Laser deep engraving test : Comparison of metal deep engraving

In recent years, With the rise of environmental protection, laser technology has increasingly replacing traditional corrosion processes on molds, signs, hardware accessories and other products for the depth of engraving applications.

Compared with the traditional way, laser deep engraving for metal materials has the advantages of no pollution, high precision, flexible, and can meet complex engraving techniques.

Due to the differences processing requirements in different industries, the corresponding engraving depth requirements and laser deep engraving effects are also different. For example, the hardware industry pursues engraving depth, and the electronic components and precious metals industries focus on fine texture. Common materials for laser engraving are carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, copper, precious metals etc. This test is to compare the engraving depth capabilities of different fiber lasers on several conventional metal materials.

Conclusion of deep engraving test

  1. Compared with different materials, The engraving depth is aluminum > stainless steel > carbon steel;
  2. Compared with different field lens, When the same depth is less than 0.5mm, the efficiency F100>F163 ; When the same depth is greater than 0.5 mm, the efficiency F100 < F163 (focal depth F100 < F163);
  3. Compared with different laser powers, as the deep engraving numberof times increase, the higher the power, the greater the depth increase;
  4. Compared with the same laserpower, as the number of deep carvings increases, the depth and time increase approximately linearly, so it is possible to estimate the engraving depth for a longer time;
  5. Withsame time, the depth of multiple rapid engravings are shallower than slower engraving, but the shading is fine;
  6. At the same depth, the field mirror F163 will have more finer shading than the field mirror F100.
